motivation: haters get on ya job

Its Saturday!!! Yay for me doing a post on the weekend that isn't about how I didn't do anything and didn't have a chance to relax and have fun.

So Friday night was the Senior thing at Sandbar. It was GREAT! Such a fun night. It started with dinner at Aladdin's with Derwin (who by the way I did NOT see out at Sandbar as he promised). The food was good, although it is more expensive now. But the service sucked. The owner was really nice. He cooked out food and gave us each two free glasses of wine. But the waiter.... hmph.... Sahid or however you spell his name.... I mean, I don't like to pull out the race card, but I smell a hint of racism. That is all I will say. But it was a good time and i'm glad we got to catch up. Derwin is having an interesting life as always, but thats him. Always at the center of something.

Anyways, afterwards I called Bernard because I knew he would be on the Hill. He came to Franklin and picked me up and we dropped Derwin off at the Lodge. Bernard and I went to my room to waste time before he headed off to the 80s Dance. I miss seeing him all the time now that he's working full time and not taking classes this semester. So it was great to see him, even if it was for only 20 minutes or so. So off he went to the 80s Dance.

Well the plan was to take a two hour nap until midnight and then head out to Sanbar. But Austin called me back and I wanted to go ahead and get out talk over with. So he arrived shortly after Bernard left. Yea, um.... well I got an answer to all my questions. I'm just not sure how satisfied I am with any of them. Why must boys be so complicated, or uncomplicated as the case may be? Actually, I think now I understand where his mind it and I know what i'm going to do. So... yea, that is that.

So I finally made it out to Sandbar. It filled up pretty quickly. My two glasses of wine, my shot of 151 (thanks Mikey), and my vodka and redbull had me crunk enough. '06 was out there representing. I saw people I hadn't seen in a hot minute. It was great. We took it back to freshmen year. And tell me why the DJ shouted out NV? Oh wait, if you don't remember NV then you are just too young. Anyways I rode there with Femi, but I left on my own. I think Bernard and I have a psychic connection because I walked outta the club, got a phone call from him, and he was right there. So I hopped in the car and he was gonna take me to TimeOut (not to eat, eww) but because Austin was there. On the way we saw our friend Maurice and we took him to his room in Granville. Ok so I get to TimeOut and find Austin and all his roommates. We chill and talk and then I got back to his house where I would spend the night.

Anyways I made him bring me back at 10:30 because I needed a shower and a hair wash before I head off to work at 12. So that pretty much brings us up to date on that adventure. As we speak I am sitting here deep conditioning my hair. So yay for multitasking and a great weekend. Unfortunately, today until 7 pm is going to be all about homeworking. But thats how I do it. I party like a rockstar, but I STILL get A's. Yep, thats right! Ok gotta jet! Peace and adios!

celebrations at top of the hill

Last night was a barrel of fun and laughts.

Last night a bunch (and I mean more than 25) people went to Top of the Hill to celebrate Lashaun Price's 21rst bday. Happy birthday (belated) boo! You better be offically grown and sexy. It was fun, if not expensive. Top of the Hill is not playing with those prices. And then they wanna add gratuity and then my waitress couldn't do simple math? Oh heck no. But I know how it is and I tipped her anyways. She's lucky because back in the day I woulda been like "fuck you bitch'. But I digress....

I got to get my favorite drink (The Color of Money). I must say it is quite delicious. I also had a salad. Now explain to my why that came out to be a total of almost $12.00. Oh heck to the heck of no.

It was cool because I got to see people that normally never come out/people I usually see but for some reason had been ghost this week. For example, I hadn't been out with Mrs. Kathryn Koo in a while. And I hadn't seen Brandon all week. In addition Femi was there and a who host of others. So it was good.

We left Top O at midnight and I got a ride back to my dorm. That was great because it was too cold outside to be waiting on the P2P. So I get back and I called Austin because I wanted to let him know that I was no longer on Franklin. He calls me back but b/c of my cancer ridden phone I missed it. I called him back. Yes, we played a little game of phone tag. Anyways, I just needed to talk to him. And I just want to clarify that I was ready to do it. But then I got sleepy and I lost my courage, so I was like i'll call him today.

*whimper

Anyone that knows me knows how I ahbor confrontation. But its ok. Imma handle this and its going to be ok. Its kinda like a paper thats due the next day, ya know? I just can't keep putting it off anymore. Well... wish me luck!

apples alternative fall break aka three days of mafia

Well I am back from Fall Break.

This time instead of lazing about, I decided to try and do something useful. So I did the APPLES Alternative Fall Break. Over the break I went to Hendersonville, NC (up around Asheville) with 9 other students to study issues relating to migrant works. We volunteered two days at a community health clinic called the Blue Ridge Community Health Center and also took a tour of a farm and spoke with Juan, the supervisor for the migrants on that particular farm. We also spoke with an Outreach Coordinator for the clinic and other employees. It was good I think. The trip was new so there were some glitches, but overall I think I got alot from it.

I learned alot from being able to talk to Juan and Victor (Outreach Coordinator). I also got to see how a small, community clinic functions. It made me really rethink practicing at a large hospital. I can see the importance of these centers and what a difference they make. Its something real and tangible and I would like to be a part of it. Perhaps I will get the change.

Well as I said, break is over and its time to get right back into the swing of things. I have scondaries for medical school to turn in as well as applications for alternative career routes to do as well. I need to see about that second job i've been toying with as well. Busy, busy, busy is how I stay.

Good news: Think mommy is coming to see me this weekend. Yay! I haven't been home in forever, and I probably won't lay eyes on Wilson until Thanksgiving Break. Such is my life and since I do NOT plan to return to reside there i'd best get use to being away for long stretches of time.

where do my weekends go?

Um.... can I actually have a weekend for once? That would be a nice and much needed change.

This weekend was ok I guess. Thursday I went out ot dinner at Applebees w/my friend Romer. He's really cool. I just never get to see him anymore. Even though we are both biology majors we've only had two classes together and they were during summer school. Plus he lives off campus and I am still a senior on South. But anyways, like it said it was nice to catch up. My friend Caleb works at Applesbees and he was mad b/c I didn't ask for him to be our waiter. Haha.... he's a trip.

I can't believe I am a senior!!!

Sorry that was random, but its how I feel. Friday I went to Greensboro with my friend Tracey. Loretta bought my ticket and Tracey was just going anyways. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!! It was very different form the "stepshow" we have here at Carolina. It was fun to trip out with Loretta and Tracey was out of line. If you get in a car with her you will clearly know she is from Atlanta. She was just weaving in and out of traffic. Oh Lord, it definately kept me awake. Saturday I was up nice and early to start on homework. I have a midterm on Monday, another one Wednesday, and a take home midterm that is due Wednesday. Why oh why do they make me work so hard form the whole two days of Fall Break that they allow me? I'm just a bit confused about that. Saturday night I called Tommy and we decided to hang out. We were gonna go to the movie in the Union but it was packed, so instead we went to Wendy's and then to his apartment to watch TiVo. Yes, we are that lame. AND WHAT?!?!?! You wanna make something of it bitch? Erhem, let me calm down. Today was pretty much a repeat of Saturday. I got up at 8 am and began studying Biology. I had a meeting and I just finished my spanish reflection paper which is due Tuesday. So I'm bout to head the last meeting of the day, then its Desperate Housewives, and more studying until I fall asleep. *sigh* Oh well... such is life!

I'm a senior bitches!!! I'm bout to graduate. Oh no, UNC done messed up now!

and the weekend is over

In my opinion my weekend is over once Sunday morning breaks. Sunday is my day to go to meetings and do homework. Well I have plenty of that to do tomarrow. Ugh. I get sick to my stomach just thinking about it.Anyways though the weekend was fun. I didn't end up going to the BSM Ball though. Brandon and I found ourselves a bit to tired to venture out. I came back that afternoon and spent the next two hours or so cleaning my room. I swept, vacuumed, hung up clothes, cleaned the bathroom, etc. It was so nice to be able to see the floor again. Friday night I went to see the movie at the Union. I saw Batman Begins. It was pretty good, definately better than the last Batman movie. After that I returned to my room and after putting myself in my sleepy clothes I snuggled up under the covers and watched SharkTale. Just as I was going to give in to the call of dream land, Austin called. He was out drunk somewhere and wanted me to come visit. I grumbled and snarled, but as I did want to see him I got my happy butt up and caught a P2P to Granville. He came and got me and we went to his house. OMG! That boy is so funny so me. He was telling me these random drunken stories and then he would start talking about the "DaVinci Code". It was so random. I was just looking at him like he was crazy.

Saturday was registration day. Austin dropped me off early and went off to work. I went promptly back to sleep and work up at 9:30 to do registration. I got Afam 40, Psych 10, and Biol 135. I still need one more bio class, but it has restricted registration. But it will be handled Monday. I basically lazed around all day. Uncle Jesse Ray came up we went shopping at Southpoint. Now I am at work. Only 17 minutes left. Then I get to be released from hell.

weekend over once again

One more weekend has come and gone. My weekend pattern really has to change. I can't spend all of Friday and Saturday fucking around and then try to do all my homework on Sunday. I just can't. I always have a minimum two meetings so I really don't have alot of time to get work done. Today I have UNITED stafff meeting and the GLBSA staff meeting as per usual, plus meeting with my group for Poli 73. So yea... it sucks. I got all my biology reading done already, but I still have to read the first part of "La Diana" for Spanish 82. I know thats going to take a few hours. Ugh. This stupid book will become the bane of my existence. I also had better make it my priority to read the Poli 73 readings for Monday so I can't work that into my part of the presentation. So... so.... so annoyed with myself.

Now lets talk about my inability to not spend money I don't have. I don't even want to talk about my personal finance position. Plus the school fucked up again and charged me. I want to kill everyone in the Financial Aid and Cashier's office. I hate them all.... seriously.... I do. I really want to kill them. I want to kill them all. I want them all to die the slowest, most painful death I can concieve. In other words, I just want revenge. Is that so wrong?

On to better things though. Saturday was Brandon's birthday dinner. That went well. There ended up being about 10 people there. I was very pleased. I worked kinda hard on it. So he was happy and every seemed to have fun. Afterwards Lauren, Angelia, he and I went to a Language Arts Party. Yea.... um.... yea. I think I got a cold from being out. But its ok because next weekend is going to be Jessica's weekend. It will be a time when I do whatever the hell I want (or don't want) to do. Friday I plan to go and see Batman Begins and Saturday my uncle is coming to take my shopping (I hope). I plan to watch "What Not to Wear" and Saturday Night Live. I plan to rent dvds and be all up in my room straight chillaxing. Yes, oh yes.

Anyways, gotta get myself back on the grind because I can't stop, won't stop.
